Veteran's Tour...Shawn Mayer

Last Friday night a WHOLE bunch of us from town headed over to Spencer, Ia to see my Favorite Nashville Star EVER...Shawn Mayer. Shawn currently on tour around America and is raising for the American Vets. She is a Big fan of the Veteran's and is very proud of them for fighting for our freedom. I am a huge fan of Shawn's and love her songs.

Dave Fintel was the opening act for this Veteran's Tour. He is another local guy that we love to listen too. Randy is one of HIS BIGGEST FANS!!

Malissa was able to go right down front and snap about 140 pictures of this pretty gal. This last picture is of Shawn waving at Malissa. So if you hear this gals name...Listen to her. She is an excellent writer. And is just sign a publishing deal with Savannah Music Group.

The American Legion "Veteran's Tour" featuring

Shawn Mayer and special guest Dave Fintel,

comes to the Clay County Regional Events Center on Friday, March 27th. All proceeds from the concert will go the the 9th District American Legion for youth programs and veteran's activities, money to help deceased veteran's families and assist veteran's with various expenses. Tickets are $16.50 and are on sale now at the Clay County Regional Events Center Box Office, on line at http://www.ticketmaster.com/ , or charge by phone at Ticket Master at 1-800-745-3000 or at all Ticket Master outlets.
Doors open at 6:30pm - show starts at 7:30pm.

I am so excited about this concert...First off Shawn Mayer is from a neighboring community and was a finalist on Nashville Star last season. I so voted for her over and over and over and over again. Second her Special Guest Friend is a personal friend of mine...as to many in this community. Dave even sings a special song to me if I happen to be uptown when he's preforming It is by Lynyrd Skynyrd - "Gimme thre Steps" Here's the the first few lines.

Thirdly (I'm aging myself now)...I have been a member of the 9th District American Legion Auxiliary for the past 25 years. While in High School I was even the 9th District Jr. President for several years and the STATE president in 1988/89. Here's my picture being sworn in. Yup that's me on the end in the striped dress & black belt.

September 7, 2008 was a day spent at the World's Largest County Fair-The Clay County Fair. As you read in an earlier post I have been supporting our LOCAL Narshville Star contestant Shawn Mayer. Well the Local radio station from Spencer flew Shawn home for this BIG event. Sooooooo we had to go and see her again. We saw her when she preformed for the actual show BUT this time we were able to get her autograph and even get a picture with Shawn. Malissa and Maycee had soooooo much fun. This was a day they will never forget. Now the next time we plan on seeing Shawn will be in Spencer again on November 22 for an actual Nashville Star concert.

Nashville Star Update

Now that the bachelorette is over and she is happy with Jesse. I had it wrong...my Monday nights are spent watching Shawn Mayer perform.

How Exciting...We went to actually see Shawn Mayer in May City, IA last night and it was FUN!!! Of course we weren't front row but we weren't last either. There was over 3,000 fans there to cheer her on. So if you haven't watched this gutsy gal with a WHOLE lot of Country in her...If you haven't voted yet, YOU NEED TOO!!

Nashville Star

Not sure how many of you have been watching Nashville Star on NBC on Monday nights but there is a gal Shawn Mayer on there from Northwest Iowa and she needs your votes. She is a gutsy gal and I have actually heard her sing right here in my home town two years ago for our annual Cobblestone Day celebrations. So of course I am partial to her. I however have to admit that I don't watch the entire show when it airs live but record it on my DVR. You see I have to watch the Bachelorette since it is on at the same time. And I don't miss this show. Go Jason!!!
