Weekend in Omaha...

HENRY DOORLY ZOO, OMAHA, NEBRASKA

The rain forest or the Lied Jungle was awesome. Sooo Pretty.

I love this picture of the parakeet I took...Looks like it belongs on a magazine or on a blog.

This tank was cook you actually got to feel the...what ever it is...

The penguins were cool too.

The Scott Aquarium was unbelievable...

The kids liked the sky lift or afficial name Skyfari...it was ok...but I prefer my feet to be touching solid ground. That's just me... :-P But was a neat way to see the zoo from far above... I see Zach is texting someone in this picture...
Cool shot of the elephant getting a drink of water...

If you go make sure you have quarters in your pocket so you can feed the thousands of fish in the little creek. I couldn't believe all of them....

Look they are packed in that little spot trying to get some food.

Here you go lil fishy...

Or the thousand of them...

O we love the gorilla's...He was such character. He even rammed the window make the crowd jump then he sat right next to the window like he did nothing... This one was was putting on quite a seen.
At the beginning of the day Zach mentioned he wanted to see the Polar Bear...and finally we found him. Wasn't quite sure if he was gonna come out and play but he did.

BOB KERRY PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE

The longest pedestrian bridge to link two states, Council Bluffs, Iowa and Omaha, Nebraska, providing safe crossing over the Missouri River. The bridge is a Cable Stay bridge, meaning cables stretch down diagonally from each of the towers to the bridge deck for strength, support and flexibility...as well as visual appeals 3,000 ft long, including the landings; the walkway is 15 ft wide, and allow visitors to stand about 60 ft above the river.

Neat curve...

The bridge is curved, symbolic of the meandering Missouri River .
I thought this was funny...Six boats tides together PARTYING...Oh I mean floating down the Missouri River. I wonder how old the oldest kid on there was?. Anyway they sounded like they were having a good ol' time.

AND we had a good al' time as well. Sad to think there probably won't be too many more of these where all five of us get to go....So I am blogging to cherish these moments years to come...

First Day of School 2009-2010...

Where did the summer go? Did we even have summer? This defiantly was one of the cooler summers on record in this part of the Midwest.
However we must of had a summer because on August 20, 2009 the kids started the new school year. So a great photo opportunity...or so I was hoping. This year R.J is a Junior, Zachary is in 8th grade and Malissa is a 5th grader. It is hard to believe I only will have one more first day of school with all three of my kids. But they are growing up.

Lemonade for Sale...

You know the saying, "When life gives you lemons...make Lemonade!" That is what "My Girls" have done a couple of times this summer. In a little town of about 850 people they both made $12.50 the first time and over $8.00 each the second time. I was at work when they sold lemonade the first time and was really sad I didn't get a picture...So last Friday I happened to be running an errand and when I drove my the convenience store corner...there they were...So I quickly ran home and grabbed the camera and snapped a picture. They are so cute... You maybe wondering if this is safe and why I didn't exactly know my daughter was selling lemonade. Well you see...the other girl is her BFF...they are pretty much inseparable so her mom and I just call them both "our girls" so anyway Maycee's parents OWN the convenience store they were selling the lemonade at and also Malissa did spend the night at her house the night before so I never worry when she's with her "other Mom"!

Extra Special You...Happy Birthday...Lil Brother...

Extra Special You
By Leo's sister ~ Karen Kacmarynski~1980~12 yrs old

There are few words that can say
How much I love you.
And now that you have passed away
I love you all the more.
I know you can'tbe far away
Because you are with the Lord.
And if the Lord is with us
You can't be far away.
I only wish you could have stayed
But, the Lord called you
And this is one of the things I must give up
It's difficult to do.
It will be hard because I cared,
And the Memories of you are happy ones to be shared
You are extra special in every way.
I have but one thing to say
I love you in every way
and in everything I do.
I just wish you could have stayed
Because it is rough and tough
It's such a hard thing to do...
To give up the one you love so much.
This picture is from August 14, 1979...Leo's First and only birthday. In this picture is from left to right...Big Brother Steven, Big Sisters Linda (me) & Angela. Then Big Nephew...Yes nephew...Derek.To this day...I love you and miss you very much. But I know in my heart you are with Jesus and now with our Mommy and some day...I will see you again. Loving you forever!!

Pouring the Footings...

Getting ready for the footings... Randy doing a lil bit of inspecting...

Rebar going on for the basement walls tomorrow...Actually pouring the footings...Poor kid...they had to haul the cement by wheelbarrow for the basement part...could get the big cement truck close enough. :( Now pouring the footings for s three stall garage...You can't keep Randy away. This my friends is the pole where our electric meter will be going? Now why didn't they bring the actual meter

Aah...Flowers...

In the past week I have gotten lots of flowers...
First bunch is from my Sweet Hubby...just because...My favorite flower is a carnation since they last longer then roses. So that's why he gives me carnations...Then it is Gladiola season and there is a guy in town who grows them and then delivers them to the two banks in town plus City Hall. All sorts of colors, reds, pinks, yellow and purples. So very pretty.
Then to my shocking surprise I get to work this morning and I have this bunch of roses delivered to me...from a town citizen no less. You see, last week while I was have this awesome time camping at Dog Creek...I had to give up part of any evening to come back to work. For a Board of Adjustments meeting since, lucky me...is the secretary and this variance has been an on going mess for almost a month and I wanted it settled be for the next council meeting. Well things didn't go quite as planned so I put my thinking cap on and tried my hardest to figure out away for this citizen to get their variance approved. Well come Monday night just that happened...The variance that failed was petitioned and then approved. Whew...So for going up and beyond my call of duty...I was thanked. It was so nice.

Ground Breaking News...

Look some big rocks...those will be great on the shore line...

A walk out basement...

I am so excited, nervous, anxious, overwhelmed, ...you name it...those feelings are real.

Woohoo...an electrical box for our home...now you tell me how come we order electricity two months ago and the lot next to us just was sold a couple of weeks ago and they have a temporary hook up already? Any way...we are getting closer the box is at least here.

And this is the water lines. YEA!! More pictures to come as progress continues...
Sooo probably not too much camping here anymore...a little muddy if and when it rains. But the out come...I can't wait!
This is the sunset coming home tonight. Ooohhh so Pretty. I think this was God talking to me.

Out 2nd Annual Dog Creek Weekend...

Our friends from town started last year a weekend get away...if you want to call going 18 miles a get away...but it is. Really it is. Two of us have campers and two other couples rent the cabins and the rest ...well they get the TENT.

Well when all the children were there we had 12 of them...quite a team.
and out of the twelve was only three girls...so that is why we had Malissa bring her best friend.
We went for a wonderful walk...a lil humid but not to bad. But later that weekend. Wow...it was so humid that...
Zach and his friend decided to ride their bikes down this huge hill into the lake.Malissa's friend had a sore toe so we made sure she soaked it twice a day every day.

It was a fun filled five days...Can't wait till next time.
