My First born turned 17 on May 17th. He recieed his I-Pod stereo he's been wanting...
His friends snuck over and decorated his bedroom...

and mom splurged and made R.J his one of his favorite meals - chicken alfrado for supper, bought donuts and Birthday party ice cream for dessert.

After supper we took a smallmotorcycle ride to the neighboring town. It was a fun filled day.

Prom 2010

Dad let Randall (R.J) take his truck to prom to his Junior prom. Theme was Under the Sea. R.J and several friends drove to Sioux City to eat at the Olive Garden. I was trying to be a "Good" mommy and make Monkey Bread for Breakfast the following morning. However it looked yummy BUT i mistakenly used Cumin instead of Cinnamon...and it didn't taste so good. Tho I'm thinking it will be something he always will remember. :)
R.J and his Date Paige...I love the dress.

April ~ I had Easter at my home... And we signed my sis-in-law up for Face Book...come to find out she already had it just never quite figured it all out. But she'd good now!May ~ The kids & I drove up to Bemidji, MN to help my great Niece Nia celebrate her First Communion. June ~ No time for anything but BASEBALL...
July ~ R.J went to the Black Hills with a couple of his aunt & uncles & cousin on motorcycles. August ~ We took a quick family trip to Omaha for the weekend. We visited the zoo and the Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge...The kids are standing on the state line between Iowa & Nebraska.September - Labor day Weekend ~ A camping adventure at the Kac farm...And you have to bring all the toys. As my kids get bigger so do their toys....
October ~ R.J made it to STATE...on the Cross Country Team...State meet was held in Fort Dodge, IowaNovember ~ Zachary & Malissa made it to the state competition in the Jaycee's RUN-PUNT-PASS Event...And our ZACHARY PLACE FIRST FOR THE 8th GRADERS!! WOOT WOOT!!December ~ We promised R.J several years ago that if his team (the Bengals) ever played the VIKINGS in Minnesota that we would go...So we made a weekend of it with the Good ol Neighbors!!

What a GREAT YEAR!

Christmas 2009...

Christmas 2009 was...well lets say... it WAS different this year...

This is the first time (Other than when my folks went south early in 2005) that we didn't spend Christmas in the Kac garage on Christmas Eve. My dad found out this fall he has cancer and going through kemo he just didn't quite know how he'd feel. And he isn't to be around you if you are sick of any sort.
So we made other plans and I was having a hard time...
BUT...As it turned out we received 18 inches of snow over the Christmas Holiday so we wouldn't have made it anyway...so that eased the pain just a little...I think my Mommy in Heave may had a lil to do with all that white stuff...to make be feel better for not being able to go to my dads...Or so this is what I believe. :)
Since I had some extra time at home I decided to get a little creative and made this cute Santa/Elf out of bread dough...(I didn't have any red food coloring so I improvised with green sugar and a lil water) Didn't turn out too bad.The kids are spoiled as usual...Malissa recieved two American Girl Dolls and a mini net notebook computer...Zachary recieved these slipper shoes that he picked out and several gift card...of his choice of course...And R.J did his own online shopping this year. This was the one gift he didn't know about. So Christmas shopping was rather easy...With all this snow the boys got some use out of their toys. The icicles off the house where amazing this December too.

So since my computer was out of commission this holiday season...

I want to Wish you all a Very Happy 2010...

Minnesota Vikings vs The Cincinnati Bengals...

Several years ago I promised my oldest boy, R.J that if the Vikings ever played the Bangles in Minneapolis that we would go. Well that time came and so on December 12th, 2009 the family and our favorite neighbors head to Minneapolis for the weekend to watch the Minnesota Vikings vs the Cincinnati Bengals.
This was the view from our room...That's the dome out the window. The room was so hot we had to leave the window open all night. The kids learned a lot about city life. The sirens are sounding all night long.

So Saturday afternoon we all rode the tram to the Mall of America. Our mission...to find R.J a "NEW" Bengals Jersey to wear to the game. And he succeeded. While at the Mall of America there were three UFC wrestlers signing autographs...so Zachary stood in line and got Anderson the Spider Silva's autograph...I couldn't get to close so just half of his head. :) In front of Zach in the grey t-shirt.

Malissa found s friend too while at the mall. We stayed at the mall just a couple of hours then back to the hotel for the evening.

The Bengals on the sideline...

We sat in the second level...had a view of everything...However I've sat in lower deck before also and still think the best view is from my couch. But I know its the experience of being there and it was fun. Until the drunk behind me fell on me. I was OK.

There were almost 64,000 people here this day.
