Ten Things Tuesday...On Wednesday...AGAIN!

I am thankful …

1.That I can do Ten Things Tuesday a day late.

2. That there where angels with me this week and my tire didn't fall off. The lug nuts where not tightened properly after having them rotated. (Scary)

3. That someone else kills the turkey.

4.For conversation and the GOOD food.

5. For a family that loves me.

6. That Thanksgiving is the one time you can eat for 8 hours straight, feel like ya gotta be rolled away from the table, but you keep right on eating because it is all so good.

7. For the crazy relatives who make you laugh right after you put mashed potatoes in your mouth just so they can watch you blow them out your nose.

8. For getting two days off PAID from work.

9. Being able to watch the little ones eat black olives, a.k.a. finger puppets, and add entertainment to any meal.
10. That God loves me so much, he gave me a family to love, a turkey to eat, and a his Son to save my soul. And yours too. :)

I was messing around with a picture program I have today and found a editing item called "Tubes". So with that I framed a few pictures.

Basketball Season has Begun...

And the Seventh Grade "A" Team after six games remains undefeated. This team is unstoppable. Zachary is number 35.

Ten Things Tuesday...

This week I am listing Ten Reasons to be Thankful for living in Small Town, Iowa

1.I don't have to worry about my children trying to buy cigarettes/alcohol because all the store clerks know who they are and how old they are and will tell me.
2. I can give directions by the people that live on them not the name of the street.
3. My weekend excitement includes going to Walmart.
4. There is a moped gang in town and my oldest son is one of them...BUT I know what he is doing.
5. That we still have Roller Rink for the kids to go skating. Really...we do...and it is ran by a volunteer for the past 40 yearsish. Also the neighboring town has a Movie theater ran by volunteers. This is Fabulous.
6.I can recognize people by their car so I know whether they are "Uptown or Downtown" Which is the SAME place.
7. There is a crowd to watch anything, even if it's seemingly uninteresting, such as a tree being cut down or a new stop sign being put in. A HUGE event is when the Fire Dept burns down an old deteriorated home. They really do grab lawn chairs and watch.
8. I can drive by anyone and wave and they'll wave back, whether or not they know me. But majority of them will know me.
9. There are NO stop lights in town.
10.I’m thankful for crisp clean air to breathe on a sunny or cloudy autumn morning

Ta Da...The NEW Bed Room

I love it!

However it looks much BIGGER in our bedroom then it did in the store. It also is quite a bit higher (taller) then it was in the store due to the mattress we picked out, but no one said "You might need to consider the type of bed you are buying; that this mattress will make it that much higher". We both could use a step stool.

I still need pictures etc. put up but I am after a BIG sign to put above my bed that says, "Always kiss me Good night" I've scene the littler ones but I want a BIG one. So we will see what I can find.

There are four drawers on each side and a cubby down the middle to hide things. The Kids think that is where I should hid the Christmas Presents. One problem...I'd have to have one of them hid them there. :)

Ten Things Tuesday...

It is that time of the week again...so I better get thoughtful. Thanks to XBOX.

1. THANKFUL FOR...That we FINALLY got my bedroom ready for the new furniture coming Wednesday. :)
2. THANKFUL FOR...In the car I've been listening to Aaron Shust...My Savior, My God...This song has now gotten stuck in my 13 year old's head and I catch him singing it. Quite often.
3. THANKFUL THAT...My Daughter enjoys reading. Smething I really don't but should.
4. THANKFUL...That my children are learning also to "Spot" the little gifts from above. Not always an easy task.
5. THANKFUL...that tonight is the last I have to sleep on an air mattress for a while.
6. THANKFUL...For all the Veterans that fought for us!!
7. THANKFUL...The fire my husband started tonight. It was so pretty,
8. THANKFUL...That due to the icy weather today...I didn't have to even step foot outside.
9. THANKFUL...my Stir Crazy popcorn popper...makes the perfect amount.
10. THANKFUL...For the hugs and kisses I recieve.

After checking Emily's Blog out tonight I had to try something...So I tried the Celeb thing and it said I looked like more biys then girls. :( Oh well moving on...so I tried this one and I did it THREE times and the first came up 5% more me and the second came up 5% more Randy and the third time was this again. I changed Malissa's picture...so I think she's a pretty good split.

Jack Frost

I wasn't very excited when the white stuff started falling from the sky...but Zach managed to make me SMILE when he built this snowman. I didn't think it snow that much but obviously it did. Now isn't he cute? The snowman reminded me of the movie "Jack Frost". If you haven't seen this movie it is well worth it. It is one of my favorites.

Say good-bye to the OLD...

The Old, blah bedroom.

Excuse the mess on the headboard...the clutter is gone.

The weekend was spent updating our bedroom. The Navy wall paper came down.

Also the popcorn ceiling came down and the new texture went up.

Yes...That is a type of broom he is using to textue the ceiling.

The color...WILD MUSHROOM. The color look addiquite in the first picture. Not so much in the one below.

And crown molding adds a finishing touch.

On Wednesday the new furniture is to arrive. I can't wait. For Randy and I are NOT loving the air mattress the past couple of nights. :) I will update then.

Thankfullness...Ten Things Tuesday

It couldn't have been more perfect. I got to work this morning and opened my emails and what shows up but an email from my Mother-in-Law about being Thankful. So I'm cheating just a little this week because these things are so...so true. These are things we really need to stop and think about...

1. FOR THE HUSBAND WHO IS ON THE SOFA BEING A COUCH POTATO, BECAUSE HE IS HOME WITH ME AND NOT OUT AT THE BARS.
2. FOR THE TEENAGER WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING DISHES BECAUSE IT MEANS HE/SHE IS AT HOME, NOT ON THE STREETS.
3. FOR THE TAXES I PAY BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM EMPLOYED .
4. FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A PARTY BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.
5. FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT. (probably a little too much to eat! :)
6. FOR MY SHADOW THAT WATCHES ME WORK BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM OUT IN THE SUNSHINE
7. FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING, WINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING, AND GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME .
8. FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT BECAUSE IT MEANS WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH. (Did you vote?)
9. FOR THE PARKING SPOT I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING AND I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH TRANSPORTATION .
10. FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM WARM.
11. FOR THE LADY BEHIND ME IN CHURCH WHO SINGS OFF KEY BECAUSE IT MEANS I CAN HEAR.
12. FOR THE PILE OF LAUNDRY BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE CLOTHES TO WEAR.
13. FOR WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES AT THE END OF THE DAY BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN CAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.
14. FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM ALIVE.
15. AND FINALLY, FOR TOO MUCH E-MAIL BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE FRIENDS WHO ARE THINKING OF ME.

State Run, Punt and Pass Compition

On Saturday morning we get up and head to Cedar Falls for the Jaycee State Compititon.

Zach has gone to State the past four years and last year, (the year he went with a friend) he brought home FIRST. This year notta... Oh well it was fun. Here are a few pictures of the day.

Halloween 2008

Aren't they cute? Zach was some type of scary clown. At his age he just pretty much wants the CANDY.
Malissa, my sweet girl wanted to be something scary this year too. So she found the out fit called "Daughter of Darkness", but when you are as cute as she is...how can she be ScArY?

After only 37 trick-or-treaters. :( Randy and I headed up town to listen to the local guy sing. So I added a little "Sparkle" to my eyes. That was kind of fun.

Blog Buttons

You might notice a few pictures along the side of my blog. Even tho I have never personally met these people they have a inspirational stories to tell.

The First is MckMiracle...her baby was diagnosed with heart failure: premature atrial contractions at 20 weeks; supraventricular tachycardia, hydrops, and intermittent advanced secondary heart block at 23 weeks; and enlargement of the heart at 32 weeks. When the doctors told us at 24 weeks that our very ill baby would surely die, well on October 29th she delivered a healthy baby boy. Pray and miracle do still exist in today's world.

The next gal is wonderful Christian women who lost her baby girl. She is telling her life story and her continuing faith even tho her baby is in Heaven. Her Blog is "Bring the Rain". Her words are so inspiring. So touching.

Another Favorite Blog I follow is "Nitty Gritty". Tho she doesn't have a button made for her sight this lady is also very motivating. This gal I have corresponded with thro email. Now if you have some time...click on a button or the title Nitty Gritty and be inspired. I can't begin to tell their stories like they can. But I warn you...It becomes addicting. Tho these ladies have been through so much they still have their faith. And this is what draws me in.
