Happy Father's Day...

One awesome guy,

One awesome husband,

One awesome DAD!

I want to wish my husband a very Happy Father's Day...He means so much to me and I am so glad that he is the father of my kiddos. I love you Randy!

I also want to wish my daddy a Happy Father's Day too.

I found this poem tonight...and thought of no other then my Dad
by Karen K. Boyer
Dad

He never looks for praises,

He's never one to boast,

He just goes on quietly working

For those he loves the most.

His dreams are seldom spoken,

His wants are very few

And most of the time his worries

Will go unspoken too.

He's there.... A firm foundation

Through all our storms of life.

A sturdy hand to hold to

In times of stress and strife.

A true friend we can turn to

When times are good or bad

One of our greatest blessings,

The man that I call Dad.

Nicole's Wedding...

June 20, 2009 at 2:00pm my niece Nicole married Tim. Welcome to the Family!

They couldn't of had a better day...they weather was PERFECT for an out door wedding.

Nicole's Dad walking her down the isle...

A Beautiful Bride...
An Adorable daughter Flower Girl...in a matching gown.

Her other Precious lil daughter...in her matching dress.

Lil Aubs not wanting to par take in the photos. But that's OK.

R.J and Zach were the alter boys. They did a great job...

This was the transportation to and from the wedding...since it was approximately a 45-minute ride from my sister's home in Bemidji to Two Inlets. So while we waited for the pictures to be taken...across the street was a lil convenience store with a bar in it. So after pictures were done the Bride and Groomed joined us for one before...
Getting on the party bus for the ride back to Bemidji for the
reception party in the woods.

We had an awesome time and I am so glad we were able to attend.

I wish Nicole and Tim the best!!

Silver Lake...

The weekend of June 12-14th at the Lake.

Our new sign,,,
That weekend was spent fixing the deck. When Randy snapped a line it wasn't correct, so we took off most of the boards and raised the middle and fixed the problem. I love the cedar. Now to get back there and do a railing and seal it. Work...work...work...It will be worth it in the end!

On June 13, 2009 was KICD 10th annual antique tractor ride...So I came back to help with this event in Primghar. There were over 225 tractors that came through town. The event went off smoothly...Thanks to all those who volunteered.
While taking a lil drive around the lake we found a painted turtle that we let Malissa grab and play with in a tub for about an hour before she let him go so he would continue living his HAPPY life.
That next day she found this...and had fun playing with him for abit before letting him go too to freedom. She was a great help swabbing the dock...
And then we had her cousin come over and spend the night...
They swam and learned how to cast... and even caught quite a few...Bullhead and one nice walleye that got away. :)MMM...Fried Bull head...

Cute Story...A Dogs Life

NOTE-This was an email-Sammy is still alive...I just personalized the story because I thought it had a wonderful meaning.
A Dog's Purpose (from a Child).
Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a thirteen-year-old Wire-haired Terrier mix named Sammy. The dog's owners, Randy, his wife Linda, and their little Kids, R.J, Zach and Malissa, were all very attached to Sammy, and they were hoping for a miracle.
I examined Sammy and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family we couldn't do anything for Sammy, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.
As we made arrangements, Randy and Linda told me they thought it would be good for the kids to observe the procedure. They felt as though the kids might learn something from the experience.
The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Sammy's family surrounded him. The kids seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on. Within a few minutes, Sammy slipped peacefully away.
The little kids seemed to accept Sammy's transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Sammy's Death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives. R.J, who had been listening quietly, piped up, 'I know why.'
Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me. I'd never heard a more comforting explanation.
He said, 'People are born so that they can learn how to live a good Life -- like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?' The lil boy continued, 'Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long.'

"Ahhhhhhh!"

Live simply.
Love generously.
Care deeply.
Speak kindly.
Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like:
When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure Ecstasy.
Take naps.
Stretch before rising.
Run, romp, and play daily.
Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will
do.
On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.
On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.
When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
Be loyal.
Never pretend to be something you're not.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently.

ENJOY EVERY MOMENT OF EVERY DAY!

God is Glue...

Once again I received an email I want to share...

I looked it up on Snopes and TruthandFiction and they both agree to a certain extent.

A couple of days ago I was running (I use that term very loosely) on my treadmill, watching a DVD sermon by Louie Giglio...and I was BLOWN AWAY!

I want to share what I learned....but I fear not being able to convey it as well as I want. I will share anyway.
He (Louie) was talking about how inconceivably BIG our God is...how He spoke the universe into being...how He breathes stars out of His mouth that are huge raging balls of fire...etc. etc. Then He went on to speak of how this star-breathing, universe creating God ALSO knitted our human bodies together with amazing detail and wonder. At this point I am LOVING it (fascinating from a medical standpoint, you know.) .....and I was remembering how I was constantly amazed during medical school as I learned more and more about God's handiwork. I remember so many times thinking...."How can ANYONE deny that a Creator did all of this???"
Louie went on to talk about how we can trust that the God who created all this, also has the power to hold it all together when things seem to be falling apart...how our loving Creator is also our sustainer.
And then I lost my breath.
And it wasn't because I was running my treadmill, either!!!It was because he started talking about laminin. I knew about laminin. Here is how wikipedia describes them :"Laminins are a family of proteins that are an integral part of the structural scaffolding of basement membranes in almost every animal tissue."
You see....laminins are what hold us together....LITERALLY. They are cell adhesion molecules. They are what holds one cell of our bodies to the next cell. Without them, we would literally fall apart. And I knew all this already.
But what I didn't know is what laminin LOOKED LIKE.
But now I do. And I have thought about it a thousand times since (already)....Here is what the structure of laminin looks like...AND THIS IS NOT a "Christian portrayal" of it....if you look up laminin in any scientific/medical piece of literature, this is what you will see...
Now tell me that our God is not the coolest!!!Amazing. The glue that holds us together....ALL of us....is in the shape of the cross.
Immediately Colossians 1:15-17 comes to mind."He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
For by him all things were created; things in heaven and on earth , visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities;all things were created by him and for him.He is before all things, and in him all things HOLD TOGETHER. "
Colossians 1:15-17
Call me crazy. I just think that is very, very, very cool. Thousands of years before the world knew anything about laminin, Paul penned those words. And now we see that from a very LITERAL standpoint, we are held together...one cell to another....by the cross.
You would never in a quadrillion years convince me that is anything other than the mark of a Creator who knew EXACTLY what laminin "glue" would look like long before Adam even breathed his first breath!!
Praise the Lord!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This weekend...

The Niemans finally got to spend their FIRST weekend camping at our lake lot.We were BUSY...busy...BuSy!

Did I mention we were busy this weekend?
